Who can Apply West Bengal Caste Certificate
The BCW Department of West Bengal published an Official notice about the required Eligibility Criteria for Caste Certificate Application. In order to obtain a Caste Certificate for SC, ST, OBC an applicant has to fulfil the following criteria.
- The applicant must be a citizen of India.
- He/She has to be a permanent resident of West Bengal. The applicant must be a citizen of India.
- The applicant must belong to the said Caste and Category he/she claims to belong to.
- The applicant does not fall under the ‘creamy layer’ (not applicable for SC/ST Certificate).

Step 2: Now Sign Up / Register yourself on this Website by entering your Full Name and Mobile Number. Then verify your mobile number by entering the OTP. You are now successfully registered on this website.
Step 3: Now you have to fill the Basic Details about yourself on the Online Application Form. These basic details are – District, Sub-Division, Block, Municipality and Gram Panchayet. You also have to provide your Name, Guardian’s Name, Mobile Number, Email, Religion. Now upload your scanned photo and signature.
Step 4: After completing the previous steps, now you have to fill the following details on the Application Form.
- Caste Type (for which you are applying)
- Details of Existing Caste Certificate from Paternal Side
- Applicant’s Date and Place of Birth
- Present and Permanent Address of the Applicant
Step 5: Now you have to mention two Person’s name, who Reference you for this caste Certificate. Enter their Name, Address and Mobile Number. At least two references required to apply.
Step 6: Upload your scanned documents at this step. At first select document name, then enter its number and then upload your scanned document for West Bengal SC ST OBC Caste Certificate. The list of required documents is already given above.
Step-5: Now click on the Submit button to complete your application. After successfully submitting the online application form for West Bengal SC ST OBC Caste Certificate, you will get a system generated Application Number.

Hello Roni, contact once to your BDO/Municipality office with the acknowledgement copy of your caste certificate application. They may provide you a valid reason, why your application rejected.

Please tell me whether address-change of sc certificate is possible or not, because I have shifted to a new address and my aadhar card is also having the new address. so both are having different addresses presently. Of course both my addresses are within West Bengal.

Hello Sir, to ake any corrections on your Caste Certificate, you have to visit your SDO office, from where your certificate issued. Write an Application Letter to them for the correction. Attach your old certificate copy and proof against the correction. Submit it to the SDO office. They will make corrections on the Caste certificate within a months.

Hello Nasir, contact to your BDO office / Municipality Office regarding this issue. Probably you have to upload your Family deed, which proves your Sub-caste at the time of Online Application.
