Now Kanyashree Scholarship is also available for University girls students. Currently this Kanyashree Scheme is available for School and College girls students. But recently the Chief Minister of West Bengal announced that ‘Kanyashree Scheme’ for Postgraduate courses is also available.
Two years ago Hon’ble Chief Minister of West Bengal, Mamta Banerjee announced that Kanyashree Scholarship K3 also start for the girl students who are currently pursuing their Postgraduate Degree from any University. This scholarship will help the girl students in their Higher Studies. Kanyashree Prakalpa received national and international recognition for its design governance features.
All the girl students pursuing a regular course of Post-graduation in Science/Arts/Commerce may apply K3 without K2 ID scoring at least 45% marks in graduation.
Girls students, who are already registered for the K2 scheme, are only eligible for the K3 scheme. To apply the Kanyashree K3 scheme, students have to pass an Undergraduate degree with at least 45% marks and took admission on any Postgraduate course under any University. Open/Distance University students aren’t eligible for this Kanyashree K3 scholarship.
Under the Kanyashree K3 scheme, Science stream students will receive Rs. 2500 per month and Arts stream students will receive Rs. 2000 per month. There is no maximum age limit to apply for Kanyashree K3 Prakalpa.
Kanyashree K1 scheme for the 13 to 18 years old school students. Under this K1 scholarship scheme girl, students are getting Rs. 750 per year. Kanyashree K2 scheme is for unmarried college girls students under age 18 to 19 years and the monthly family income less than Rs. 10,000. Students will get one time Rs. 25,000 for K2 scholarships.
Kanyashree K3 Scholarship 2024 for University girls students, who are currently pursuing a Postgraduate degree. In this category, no matter what is the material status and what is the monthly family income. Chief Minister also announced that among those Kanyashree holder top 10 girls, who will go for further study and research (PhD degree), their all the amount will provide by NRI citizens.

Kanyashree K3 Scholarship Online Application Process
You must have to fulfil all the eligibility requirements for Kanyashree K3 Scholarship 2024 and apply for this, then follow the steps.
Visit Official Website: For Online Application at first visit the Application Portal, svmcm.wbhed.gov.in and click on the ‘Apply for Kanyashree Prakalpa (K3)’ under the tab ‘DIRECTORATE of PUBLIC INSTRUCTION (DPI)’.
K2 Id Verification: Now select Year, Kanyashree ID, Name, Date of Birth, Father’s & Mother’s name and then click on K2 Authentication. (Not mandatory to apply for K3 Scholarship)
Registration: After successful verification, you could update your information from the application form and then click on the Register option. You will get a unique Applicant ID.
Application Form Fillup: Now login to the website (svmcm.wbhed.gov.in) with your Applicant ID and password. Then click on the ‘Edit Application/Edit Profile’ option and update your information and upload scanned photograph and signature. You can update your bank account details also.
Upload Documents: Now upload the supportive documents, Admit Card and Marksheet of Madhyamik Exam, Admit Card and Marksheet of the last exam passed, Domicile Certificate (Aadhaar Card, Ration Card, Voter Card etc) and Scanned copy of Bank Passbook 1st page.
Submission: After successful upload, Check the application in view mode & click on Submit Application to complete the application process.

Hello Ankita, I didn’t know the exact reason why Distance/Open course students are not eligible to apply for this scholarship. But there might be some reason for that – The course fees and expenses (hostel, books etc) of Regular course is greater than Distance course. That’s why scholarships are generally provided to the regular course students as financial support.

If they didn’t receive it, then didn’t accept your application. So, it is better to contact with your current Institute/University regarding this, because their approval is required for SVMCM Scholarship renewal.

Hello Jyoti, as per the official guidelines if Kanayshree K3 Scholarship, you must have a Kanaysheshree K2 ID number to apply for K3 Scholarship. It means you must be a K2 scholarship receiver. Otherwise, you cannot apply for K3 scholarship.

Hello Nahid, if you have Kanyashree K2 id then you can apply for Kanyashree K3 Scholarship for your PG counselling from CU. You can only apply either Kanyashree K3 Scholarship or Swami Vivekananda Scholarship. But you can apply other Scholarships from any other sources.

Hello, if you read carefully the eligibility criteria for Kanyashree K3 Scholarship, then you may notice that, this scholarship only for the regular PG course students. Distance and Open University students are not eligible.

Hello Shaghufta, if you have not got your Kanyashree K2 Scholarship, then you cannot apply for Kanyashree K3 Scholarship. As the Kanyashree k2 id number is required at the time of online application.
