Eligibility Criteria for State Eligibility Test (SET)


To apply 20th SET Examination, candidates must have to fulfill the following eligibility criteria’s –

■ Candidates must have to pass Master Degree or an equivalent course with at least 55% marks on the subject.
■ Minimum 50% required for OBC, PWD, and candidates who completed their Ph.D. degree within 19th September 1991, to apply.
■ Postgraduate Students of Pure or Applied Mathematics or Statistics can apply for Mathematical Science posts.
■ Postgraduate students of Biological Science, Botany, Zoology, Microbiology, Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Physiology, can apply for Life Science posts.
■ For Library Science candidates must have M.Lib. and M. Lis. degree and M.P.Ed degree in Physical Education.
Students who are currently studying in Final Year of Master Degree, are also eligible to apply for 20th State Eligibility Test (SET).
■ The is no any maximum age limit to apply for State Eligibility Test (SET) examination.

20th SET Exam Pattern

State Eligibility Test will consist Three papers of total marks 350. Each paper contains only objective type questions. There is no negative marking for wrong attempts. 20th SET Examination will be held on 3rd December 2017.

Paper-I : Total 60 questions on this paper and candidates have to attend only 50 questions. Total marks of this paper are 100 and time allowed 1 hour and 15 minutes (9.30 am to 10.45 am).
Paper-II : This paper will contain 50 questions and all the questions are mandatory. Total marks on PAPER-II will 100 marks and time allowed 1 hour and 15 minutes (11.15 am to 12.30 pm).
Paper-III : Third paper contains 75 questions and all the questions are compulsory. Total marks on this third paper will 150 marks and time allowed 2 hours and 30 minutes (2.00 pm to 4.30 pm).

The cut-off marks for 20th State Eligibility Test (SET) is 140 for General category candidates and 122.5 for SC/ST/OBC, PwD candidates. The syllabus and Sample Question Papers for 20th State Eligibility Test (SET) will be available from www.wbcsc.org.in/wbcs website.

Online Application Process for SET

Online Application for 20th State Eligibility Test (SET) can be done from www.examinationonline.in website. Visit this website and then click on Click here to Apply Online bottom. Now fill the complete details and then upload scanned photograph and signature. After that click on Submit bottom for final submission.

Now login with your Registration Number and Password and pay the application fee. Application Fee for General Category Candidates, Rs 1000 and for SC/ST/OBC/PwD students Rs. 500. Fees can be submitted through, UBI Bank Challan, Net Banking, Credit/Debit Card.

Important Dates for 20th SET Exam

■ Last date of Online Application, 31st August 2017.
■ Last date of pay the Application Fees, 5th September 2017.
■ Admit Card for SET Exam will be available from the middle week of November 2017.
